AC IN CRISIS

Ac.Milan’s crisis sees the Italian team fighting in the Serie A in the middle section of the tables and having made a series of major changes in the club including a switch of coaches as Massimiliano Allegri was fired and Clarence Seedorf was appointed as the new head coach.

There even were rumors involving Adriano Galiani wanting to leave the club after having problems with Barbara Berlusconi as well as having a number of players entering and departing the Italian club.

The situation could even be seen just by looking at the players themselves and this was the case during Ac.Milan’s match against Napoli when Mario Balotelli was substituted and replaced by Pazzini. The former Manchester City started shedding tears as he was unable to help his team overcome Napoli and get them out of their situation.

1 week later Balotelli would score the only goal of Ac.Milan’s match against Bologna as the Italian attacker scored with a long range shot that gave his team the crucial victory.

The new coach of Ac.Milan, Clarence Seedorf praised the work of Balotelli as he even said that he will become a champion someday.

“It’s the kind of goal Mario knows how to score, as he has these weapons in his armory,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “The great thing is that the team continues to believe in the result, as you don’t score goals like that unless you believe.”

“People like to take my words out of context. I didn’t say Mario isn’t a champion, but that he will become a champion. I believe in him a great deal and I believe in the man he is becoming. I only think positive things towards him. What position do I like him best in? I like Balotelli. He can play on the right or the left.”

AC WILL DO WELL

Former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Ajax midfielder Clarence Seedorf has said that he expects AC Milan to do extremely well in the coming seasons. Meanwhile, he has also said that it is going to be extremely difficult for their rivals Inter Milan since they are in a transition period. The former Dutch international is currently playing for the Brazilian club Botafogo. The two Milan clubs have been experiencing mixed fortunes over the year. Inter Milan started the season extremely well and they were in contention for a Champions League spot only a few months ago.

AC Milan, meanwhile, started the season extremely poorly and they were looking in danger of finishing in the bottom half of the table. However, the January transfer window brought about a seachange in the fortunes of the clubs. Milan have been on an extremely good run of form, which has propelled them to the third position in the league. One of the main reasons behind it has been the arrival of former Inter Milan and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. Seedorf expects the Italian to be a massive influence for Milan in the coming seasons.

He has also said that the sale of several influential players has reduced to the strength in depth of Inter Milan.

“I believe that the arrival of Balotelli has been very important for Milan. He has shown great enthusiasm. Mario is doing very well, but I think he can still improve. I believe Milan are ready to do well in Italy and in Europe. Inter meanwhile, let many big players leave, and the team is suffering because of this. I think this is a year of transition,” said Seedorf. The 37-year-old has been a major influence in the Botafogo since his arrival just over a year ago. He almost helped them win the title last season.

SEEDORF RUES FINISHING

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has said that one of the reasons for his club exiting the Champions League at the quarter-final stage was the lack of clinical finishing against Barcelona. AC Milan were up against a tough fixture in the form of Barcelona, but they managed the first leg against the Spanish opponents quite admirably.

The 0-0 first leg result had given the impetus to AC Milan to win the tie in the second leg because an away goal would have given them incredible advantage in the match. Speaking after the first leg encounter between the two clubs, Clarence Seedorf said that he was extremely satisfied with the 0-0 draw, but felt that AC Milan could have done much better if they had clinical finishing.

Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had the best chances for AC Milan, but they both failed to convert their chances. Stubborn defending from AC Milan saw them not concede a goal against Barcelona for the first time in three years in the Champions League. Due to the importance of away goals in the Champions League, AC Milan will be looking to qualify for the semifinals with an away goal at the Camp Nou.

Seedorf: AC close to Barca

Clarence Seedorf has said that AC Milan are very much similar to Barcelona after the Italian team only narrowly lost to the Spanish club in the latest Champions League group stage match between the two sides. AC Milan managed to draw with Barcelona in the first match between the two at the Camp Nou. It was expected that Barcelona would be coming out much stronger in the reverse fixture, but it has not happened in the same way as expected. Even though AC Milan lost the match 3-2, they were very close to getting all three points from the match.

Of course, AC Milan had only 41 percentage of the possession during the match, which is quite bad for the home team. However, Clarence Seedorf has said that over the two matches, AC Milan have more than proved that they are on a similar level to the Spanish Champions. One of the reasons for Barcelona not being able to exert the same kind of influence that they have had in the Champions League match as of late is due to the away blues that they have been facing in recent weeks. They have drawn three and lost one of their away matches, which is simply not the level of performance we are used to getting from Barcelona. It is one of the reasons for Real Madrid to enjoy a six-point advantage over the current European Champions.

“We had a great game, showing our value. And the awareness of our resources is vital for the future. We played at the same [level], [and] we stayed at their level. In May, I would like to celebrate the conquest of the Champions League The ball possession is not deceiving: [but] that’s the way they play; we play just in another way,” the Dutch midfielder said.

Seedorf Goal Disallowed

AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has said that Clarence Seedorf’s goal should have been allowed rather than being disallowed for offside. AC Milan could manage only a 0-0 draw with Fiorentina during the weekend, and the result leaves them one point behind leaders Juventus, although Juventus have a game in hand. Had Clarence Seedorf’s been allowed, it would have given AC Milan the perfect opportunity to go ahead of Juventus, and also piled on the pressure on Juventus, who have been given a free ride since the start of the season.

Clarence Seedorf scored what looked to be a great goal early in the first half of their match against Fiorentina, but it was disallowed for offside by the referee. Replays, however, suggested that the referee had made the wrong decision with regard to the offside. It may have been forgotten had AC Milan scored a goal later in the match but without it AC Milan had to contend themselves with just one point instead of three. It seems to have been a massive disappointment for Massimiliano Allegri, whose side were inconsistent earlier in the campaign, but have improved significantly since then.

Speaking after the match, Massimiliano Allegri said, “We played well, and deserved more from this match. We even scored a perfectly good goal, only for the Referee to rule it out. It’s disappointing but it happens – they are only human. We had chances in the second half, and we were rarely threatened by the Viola whilst creating two fantastic chances which only great saves from Boruc could keep out.”

Massimiliano Allegri will have to quickly forget the memories of this draw, as they are set to face European Champions Barcelona in the Champions League group stages. Milan had drawn the reverse fixture due to a goal from Alexandre Pato, who returns from injury for this match.
