EARLY PROMISE DISAPPEARS

The early promise that seemed to appear after the appointment of Clarence Seedorf has managed in recent weeks after the club has suffered back-to-back defeats in important competitions. After the league defeats at the hands of Juventus and Udinese, Milan were hoping to at least get into the quarter-finals of the Champions League since it would have been rewarding financially. The club are anyway about to lose their record of having appeared in any form of European football for more than a decade. They will be without even Europa league football next season, but an appearance in the quarter-final of the Champions League this season will be enough to sustain the club going forward.

However, they have failed to do so after suffering a 5-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid. The Italians came into the match trailing 1-0 from the first leg, but they conceded a goal in the second minute to destroy Seedorf’s plans. They went on to lose 4-1 with only Kaka scoring the consolation goal for Milan. After this disappointment, progress will return to the league, as Milan will be seeking a strong into the season. They will be up against an inform Parma team and this will be a very difficult encounter according to Seedorf.

“It’ll be a tough match tomorrow as we’ll be up against a team in form. We’ll give everything to get into Europe, working game by game and we have 11 matches to get to that objective. The team is focused and the players are ready to give 100%. If we had won the home match against Juventus of the Champions League match against Atletico, something would have changed, especially for the players who are in a delicate situation. We’ll keep working with enthusiasm to get out of this situation,” said Seedorf.

AC IN CRISIS

Ac.Milan’s crisis sees the Italian team fighting in the Serie A in the middle section of the tables and having made a series of major changes in the club including a switch of coaches as Massimiliano Allegri was fired and Clarence Seedorf was appointed as the new head coach.

There even were rumors involving Adriano Galiani wanting to leave the club after having problems with Barbara Berlusconi as well as having a number of players entering and departing the Italian club.

The situation could even be seen just by looking at the players themselves and this was the case during Ac.Milan’s match against Napoli when Mario Balotelli was substituted and replaced by Pazzini. The former Manchester City started shedding tears as he was unable to help his team overcome Napoli and get them out of their situation.

1 week later Balotelli would score the only goal of Ac.Milan’s match against Bologna as the Italian attacker scored with a long range shot that gave his team the crucial victory.

The new coach of Ac.Milan, Clarence Seedorf praised the work of Balotelli as he even said that he will become a champion someday.

“It’s the kind of goal Mario knows how to score, as he has these weapons in his armory,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “The great thing is that the team continues to believe in the result, as you don’t score goals like that unless you believe.”

“People like to take my words out of context. I didn’t say Mario isn’t a champion, but that he will become a champion. I believe in him a great deal and I believe in the man he is becoming. I only think positive things towards him. What position do I like him best in? I like Balotelli. He can play on the right or the left.”

SEEDORF TAKES OVER

Former AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has confirmed his retirement from playing football and he will be announced as the new manager of Milan. The Italian club recently sacked their manager Massimiliano Allegri after a run of poor results left them fighting to even get into the top half of the table. After the sacking of Allegri, the club was expected to announce a new manager within the next few weeks. However, the rumours about a possible return of Seedorf started in motion within a few days. Seedorf is one of the finest midfielders to have represented Milan in their long history.

He is a Champions league winner with three different teams, a record that is boosted by no other player. The Dutchman was playing with Brazilian outfit Botafogo after leaving Milan a few years ago. He has been a model professional at the Brazilian outfit. His agent recently revealed that there was a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave the Brazilian club under certain circumstances. It is believed that the clause has been activated because Milan have been able to come to terms with Seedorf very quickly.

The 37-year-old has announced that he will become the next Milan manager after ending his playing career after 22 years.

“I am here to announce that I will retire from playing after 22 years. It has been a difficult decision, but I am satisfied with what I have achieved in my career. Here at Botafogo I am happy because I leave a team which has qualified for the (Copa) Libertadores. I leave an improved club, especially in terms of their mentality and team spirit. Yes, I will be the coach at Milan,” said Seedorf. Allegri lost his job after the team that defeated 4-3 by Sassuolo. This results left them 30 points behind Juventus.

AC RETURN?

Massimiliano Allegri keeps on struggling in this season of Serie A having only managed to win 3 matches out of the 13 played so far. These results put the future of Allegri with Ac.Milan in danger unless they can pull out some positive results in the next encounter.

Adriano Galliani already stated that despite the outcome that Allegri gets his position is secured but can those words hold true?

Ever since leaving Ac.Milan Claerence Seedorf was a possible candidate of being a coach of the Italian team and according to rumors that are circulating in Brazil he has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Rossoneri.

Ac.Milan went through a massive change in squad some time ago that saw their most experienced players finding their way out of the Italian team including not only Seedorf but Inzaghi as he now coaches the youth squad.

Ever since exiting the main team both Inzaghi and Seedorf expressed their desire on maintaining a connection with the club and becoming a coach. This might just be the time when it happens if Allegri can’t pick up good results in the next few weeks or if he fails to qualify in the next stages of the Champions League.

If this is the truth then AC Milan will have to pay up to €1 million to release Seedorf from his Botafogo contract which doesn’t end till June next year, reports Globesporte.com.

Last week, Seedorf was reported saying he would like to take over the reins at Milan. His relationship with the Berlusconi family, who own the club, is seen to be strong.

Only time will tell if this actually goes through but these next matches of Ac.Milan under the reign of Allegri will decide his future with the club and the possibility of Seedorf stepping into the club once more.
