CAMEROON MESS ONLY AMPLIFY SEEDORF’S FAILURE

Success has no enemies. Failure has no friends.Clarence Seedorf never played in England but it’s hard to tell when he speaks English. That is how talented the Dutch man from Suriname is. His playing career was nothing short of magical. Only a couple of teams yet plenty of titles. He stayed and made his name in each side in the days when staying and making your name with a club was still a thing.

No one who knew him, his character or his demeanor was surprised to see him pick up UEFA’s Coaching classes upon retiring. Even people who only saw him on TV was always little bit taken back with the way he shouted and commanded his team mates like a general in the Battle of Winterfell.

All these things couldn’t stop him from failing at all the sideline positions almost as much as he succeeded on the field.

The most painful episode was he last attempt of romance with the club after his own heart: AC Milan. They really gave him as much support and love but like every union that claims to have unconditional love while never really being tested by fate, divorce was inevitable.

His latest sack by the Cameroonian Football Federation was hardly a surprise given that his Indomitable Lions’ side lost to the last bitter rivals they should be losing to on the continent: the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Dutch together with his country man Patrick Kluivert was placed in charge of the Indomitable Lions to defend their African Cup of Nations title, failed and instead of going away quietly are in the middle of “you said, she said” row with the Cameroonian FA.

They claimed to be owed $8 million but it remains to be seen if this episode doesn’t dirty the chance of any team thinking of giving him a chance one more time.
