SEEDORF: RVP SHOULD THINK

AC Milan midfielder and winner of the Champions League three times with three different clubs Clarence Seedorf has said that Robin van Persie should think long and hard before making a decision regarding his Arsenal career. Robin van Persie is in the crossroads of his life. The 28-year-old striker has scored 33 goals so far this campaign alone, which has put him in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. As a result, a number of clubs have shown interest in signing the Dutch striker. Manchester City have been rumoured to be one of the potential destinations, with the Manchester club are ready to offer around £ 250,000 per week for the striker.

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has said that money should not be the priority for Robin van Persie given that he has only a few more years left at the top level of the game. Hence, he should focus on winning as many trophies as possible in the limited time he has got now. Clarence Seedorf is regarded to be one of the best Dutch players in recent times. He has been extremely lucky to lift many major trophies with big clubs like AC Milan and Real Madrid.

“A player must not leave a club because one is not in the Champions League. There must be other reasons. Van Persie gives Arsenal a lot, but he must not forget that Arsenal and Arsene Wenger in particular, have given him a lot. They have been waiting for him and given him time to show his true potential. If Van Persie leaves, it should certainly not be because they will not participate in the CL,” Seedorf told Voetbal International. Robin van Persie’s contract comes to an end in the summer of 2013, but it is thought that he would be willing to move in this summer itself.
